6th EUROPEAN TELEVISION DIALOGUE - Summary

The 6th EUROPEAN TELEVISION DIALOGUE took place on 20th November 2008 again in the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin. Dr. Peter Ammon, State Secretary in the Federal Foreign Office and Member of the Foundation Board of the Kulturstiftung des Bundes opened the most important East-West-Media-Conference with a keynote.

Chairman of the conference is Reinhard Klimmt, former Prime Minister of the Saarland and former German Minister of transport, building and housing. This year's conference in Berlin had its main focus on the dialogue between leading personalities and decision makers from the media industry in Russia, Poland, Czech Republic, Latvia and Georgia and decision makers from Germany.

The traditional keynote speech "Visions of European Television" was held this time by Dr. Hans-Günther Brüske. Dr. Brüske is Chief Editor and Deputy Director of the Saarländischer Rundfunk in Germany.

More than 200 TV broadcasters, film and TV producers, young professionals and representatives from media institutions, bankers, finance professionals, diplomats, lawyers and managers from the member and accession states of the European Unionmade the most of the opportunity to exchange information and their experiences during the EUROPEAN TELEVISION DIALOGUE.
